The Home of Bentham Trout Farming Bentham Trout Farming Limited produce trout both for the table and to stock waters for anglers. Our trout are supplied to other fish farms for ongrowing. We have always manufactured our own feed for our trout because, we wished to be in control of what the trout were fed and so we could be sure that our trout had a sustainable healthy diet. Our feed is manufactured using a standard feed press and least cost formulae as any other animal feed. BTF feed contains less fishmeal than more expensive extruded diets. The high use of fishmeal at present levels is not sustainable nor its environmental impact.The food conversion ratio (FCR) is such that BTF diets perform as well as diets often far more expensive. The cost therefore per kg of trout produced makes it the most efficient and economical feed to grow trout and other species in the UK.
